Takahiro Ohki

Director of Operations
Mr. Ohki received his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Azusa Pacific University. As a student, he founded and managed a non-profit organization called Azusa United Soccer Ministry for 4 years that started a soccer league for 500 children and held weekly soccer events for low income Hispanic population surrounding the university. His passion in education and community development led Mr. Ohki to serve at Hope Education. With Hope Education, he has developed and managed programs in Japan, India, and South Africa. Currently, he serves as Director of Operations managing operations and leading new program development.



Karen Powell

Director of Finance
Ms. Powell received her Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Houston. She has over 20 years of experience as a financial analyst, senior accountant and finance & accounting manager. With experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, Karen has worked for a variety of companies and organizations including, Habitat for Humanity, the University of Technology (Kingston, Jamaica), Amerijet International and Capri Medical Group. She is a multifaceted individual who has brought both her organization and managerial skills to the Hope Education finance department.



Shanely Niemi

Director of Communication India
Shanely Niemi is the Director of Communication for India, working closely with the India Team and partners on the ground. With ten years experience in India, she has a key role in supporting the operations in India as Director of Communication. Shae helps with administrative needs, communication flow, and regular interactions with the India team and partners for assistance and encouragement, and also travels to the region to assist with various leadership meetings, trainings, and conferences.



Drew Blount

Education Specialist
Mr. Blount received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from The University of the Ozarks and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Tampa. In his graduate assistantship for the Education Department he researched instructional technology in the classroom and the affects, as well as, aiding in the building and designing of a computer server to check students work for plagiarism by analyzing writing styles and writing levels that are present. Mr. Blount also took time during the summer in grad school to not only support and assist others in their entrepreneurial endeavors but do some of his own. Mr. Blount develops and assists educational programs in the United States for Hope Education. He previously has done extensive work for Kingstone Media Group, the World’s largest producer of Christian comics in over 375 languages.



Tammy Hoskins

Education Specialist
Mrs. Tammy Hoskins, M.Ed., serves on the HopeEd Education as an Education Specialist. She has worked with all levels of students from preschool through adult learning. Tammy’s deep passion to partner highly qualified, effective educators with dedicated parents and church communities motivates her as she works with schools in the U.S. and overseas. Tammy and her husband, George, have two loving, active boys ages 5 and 11. Her family traveled for work, which established in her a desire to know people and to help guide them in learning their gifts and talents. She has a B.A. in English/Technical Writing from the University of South Florida; M.Ed. in Education/Curriculum Development from the American InterContinental University; Ph.D. candidate in Leadership Studies/Higher Education at Dallas Baptist University.
